Objective
Perform a variety of technical and supportive patient care tasks to assist Physicians in performing complex imaging procedures
Principal Accountabilities :
(A) Operational
• Assist Radiologists, operate the equipments and perform various complex procedures like MRI, CT etc.
• Maintenance and upkeep of all related equipment of the department used to radiology, ultrasound, CT scan, MRI and Fluoroscopy.
• Assist consultants in carrying out various imaging procedures including image guided biopsies, drainage, spinal injections.
• Ensure consent form is filled and explained to the patient by the doctor.
• Ensure administration of radiation in a safe and prescribed manner.
• Maintain effective communication and ensure that patient is properly informed and prepared for the tests and procedures.
• To ensure minimal wastage of films and repeat examinations.
• To observe and respect the privacy and confidentially of patients, visitors and physicians.
• Take active part in departmental quality initiatives.
• To attend to emergencies during and after working hours.
Performance Parameters
• Repeatedly ensure high quality films and procedures.
• Timely delivery of report.
• Low repeat of films / procedures.
• Ensures minimum downtime of all equipments in the imaging department
Education
Essential: 10+2 (Science), Diploma/ Degree in X-ray Technology from a recognized institution.
Experience
1 yr experience as a fully qualified radiology technician.
