Objective

To provide & coordinate medical services, to ensure highest standards of patient care

Principal Accountabilities :

  • To provide the best possible prompt medical care to all patients.
  • To take rounds and be aware of all patients on the floor.
  • To work up all admitted patients, by taking detailed history and performing their examination.
  • To write progress notes of the patients in the records at least twice in one shift. The notes should be relevant to the patient current health status & should reflect the future plan in compliance with the admitting consultant.
  • To liaise with the admitting consultants & to start the follow up treatments.
  • To coordinate all the references with other specialists if desired.
  • To ensure all the investigations are sent & the reports are interpreted & inform the concerned consultants. To ensure all related follow up including any change in the line of treatment on the basis of the reports of the investigations.
  • To give bedside over to the reliever while going off duty.
  • To ensure the diets of the patients are ordered as per the recommendations.
  • To ensure that the medicines to the patients are delivered as per the prescriptions.
  • To counsel all the discharged patients for further follow ups & to handover the discharge summary. The second copy of the same should be countersigned by the patient or the attendants & to be kept in the patient record file.

Performance Parameters

  • Quality and timeliness of the service delivery of the patients.
  • Thorough history taking & Medical Records keeping.
  • To participate in quality audits in the concerned areas & to ensure preventive & corrective actions.
  • To ensure error free Medical care in all allocated areas.
  • To participate in the CMEs.
  • To maintain highest standards in infection control & waste management.
  • To ensure all the emergency medicines are available & the equipments are in the working condition.
  • To train all the subordinate staff for best practices to ensure implementation of service excellence programme.
  • Handling of grievances of patients & the internal staff.
  • To participate in the performance management system of the all reporting subordinates.

Education

MBBS from a medical college recognized by Medical Council of India. Must be registered with State/Medical Council of India.

Experience

A Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in the concerned specialty in a Super/Multi Specialty hospital is desirable.

Knowledge

Quick Thinking, Fast Moving, generalist and have wide spectrum of knowledge.

Strong communication skills.

Conceptual and Analytical skills.

Computer literacy and hands on PC.
